Thailand’s first gay pride comedy
Watch Trailer

The producers of Right by Me proudly present another milestone in
Thai cinema history:
Club M2, a story of fun, hope, love, and respect
for everyone—gay and straight audiences alike.

A breakthrough in Thai cinema history,
Club M2 features genuine gay
characters whose lives converge with straight people in ways that
promote equality and respect. This second feature from Cyberfish
Media Co., Ltd., Thailand’s premiere gay-owned multi-media company,
advances Thailand’s contribution to the emergence of Asian queer
cinema.

Nearly all Thai movies to date have portrayed gay men as
stereotypical caricatures: stupid, clownish men who wear dresses. For
the first time,
Club M2 presents realistic gay characters as a
movie’s heroes, who help a married, straight accountant hide from
thugs in a gay sauna (called “Club M2”) after he mistakenly accepts
a bribe intended for a city official.

Filled with action and laughs,
Club M2 also delivers a responsible,
life-affirming message about safer sex—the first feature movie
worldwide to demonstrate these live-saving practices.
In addition, the story presents a realistic, loving gay relationship between one man and his
lover who lives with HIV—an expression that love and life can exist long after someone is
diagnosed as HIV positive.

Club M2 follows the success of Cyberfish Media’s Right by Me, which won the 2005 Bangkok
Rainbow Media Award and was an official selection in the 2007 Newfest and Outfest GLBT film
festivals in New York and Los Angeles.

While video rights in all territories are still available, Cyberfish has already received
expressions of interest from distributors and festivals in North America and Europe.

The Story

Chad, a homophobic accountant, mistakenly accepts a bribe. He is chased into a gay club,
where he must take help from people he would normally avoid. His estranged wife suspects
Chad is gay. Meanwhile, a boy band shows up to perform at the club in hopes of cutting a
record deal. Chad's younger brother is in love with one of the band members, but he's not out
to Chad. Inside the club, Chad discovers himself and learns more about life. This comedy takes
place over one very long day.
